My unconscious obliged me with another fashion dream, just in time for British Fashion Week. Usually my fashion themed dreams are fraught with anxiety: I am doing a show and the clothes coming down the runway are hideous things I have never seen (and why am I watching this show instead of being backstage?).
This week’s dream featured Phoebe Philo. She was wearing the most beautiful and unusual clothes which were all made from a giant string vest-like material. She was wraith-like slender and wore layers of these strange, delicate garments which had been dip dyed in shades of grey and indigo blue. They looked almost like rags but were extremely elegant. Over the top she wore a slouchy oversized bomber jacket, which she told me had come from a children’s shop. She was showing me where I could get some amazing stockings by Prada (also giant fishnet) that we had to pull out of a Perspex tube.
Then I woke up.
